TURBSPHERE

A New Method

Turbsphere is a new method for generating initial condition files for star formation simulations. Turbulence is continually stirred by a large-scale energy injection driving scheme, thereby inducing self-consistent turbulence. Previous initial condition generation methods, such as SPHERE and BOX methods, contain mathematical pseudo-turbulence (eg. a velocity structure function) & periodic boundary conditions (respective). This new method generates initial conditions with self-consistent and boundary conditions ideal for simulating GMCs with a global collapse mode. Analysis of the simulation shows emergence of the velocity structure function & other hallmarks of realistic turbulence.
